Inverter not working after grid outage.

The power is back on but it’s registering an error and our solar installer says we need a new inverter. Fortunately it’s still under warranty but it’s killing me that we’re missing our best month of solar production. Has anyone else had their inverter broken by a power surge? Seems like they should one with some kind of surge protection.
