نشان داده شده که مدارهای کارکردی قشر در عملکردهای اجرایی مرکزی، با جفت شدن فاز تتا ( 6 هرتز) نواحی دور قشری ظاهر می شوند. در پژوهش پیش رو، ابتدا شواهد همبستگی را برای ارتباط جفت شدن فاز تتا پیشانی جداری در طول عملکرد شناختی اضافه می‌کنیم و متعاقباً، شواهد علّی آن را ارائه می‌کنیم.
