Proposed system: 14 – REC 400AA IQ7plus / IQ8 1 Tesla Powerwall
Our solar installer has a promotion for a “free” upgrade to IQ8. I’m hoping someone that is a bit more knowledgeable in this subject matter provide some input.
I understand that with the IQ8 I can generate power during a blackout at a slight cost of decreased output. I don’t anticipate many power outages, as our municipality underground’s all dry utilities. Additionally, the powerwall will also help during outages.
Looking at the specs for IQ8, the input power of 350 watts is less than the 400 from the panels. Would this be negligible since I’m assuming panels will not always produce max 400.
