Using an EV as a house battery… what are your thoughts on V2H, V2G, or other 2-way systems instead of PowerWalls or other fixed batteries?

24.32kw ground mount, 22kw Generac, no batteries. We had a significant outage of about 5 days where we burned through several hundred dollars worth of propane keeping the lights on. We’ve mulled over batteries in the past, but it doesn’t seem to pencil out, even with the 30% back, but a few such events a year and it starts to add up over the years…

Now an EV that can be used as a battery might have 5 times the capacity of a Powerwall or Encharge unit, and won’t come anywhere close to the cost; plus you have the savings associated with an EV instead of sunk cost hanging on the basement wall. What am I not considering that makes this a sketchy proposition?

A Nissan Leaf at ~$30k for a 40 or $38k for a 60 pack seems to make more sense (esp w ev rebates of around $10k) than a battery from where I sit… why doesn’t every solar driveway have a Leaf with V2H, and/or why shouldn’t I? Thanks for weighing in.
