Do Tesla Inverters work with Non-Tesla PV panels?

Advertisements

After reading the new “white paper” from Tesla about their inverters cost & performance (link below), I became curious about using them for my new solar project. My roof will be a non-Tesla solar roof. My solar integrator said that Tesla inverters only work with Tesla panels (or Solar Roof), and that instead we’ll be using Fronius inverters. Is that correct? I’ll be having Powerwalls (and Tesla vehicles) and was hoping to use the Tesla app for everything. TIA!
