Solar installer applied for permits to upgrade my main panel to 200A but not my main service? (PG&E)

Advertisements

I signed a contrfact with my solar installer for a 200A MPU with my installation.

Based on my solar installer’s paperwork that I can see, they applied for an AHJ permit to install solar panels and “upgrade main panel to 225A, new 100A main circuit”

I don’t want only a new main panel with the same 100A service: I want 200A main service coming from PG&E into that panel because I want to install a heat pump and EV charger.

My electrical service is overhead, not underground.

What do I need to do to make this 200A service happen, without jeopardizing timelines and NEM status?

Is there something I should look for in the PG&E interconnect application paperwork?
