Roof restoration/painting before solar panel installation?

Advertisements

I’m planning on getting solar power to my house later this year. My question is – is it worth getting the roof painted/restored before doing so? Other info:

> Owned the house for 3 years. House is 18 years old.

> Doesn’t look like the roof has ever been painted/restored by the previous owners.

> Last year I had an insurance claim for some roof leaks after a bad storm. A couple-dozen concrete tiles were replaced consequently.

> I plan on living here for the foreseeable future.

Can anyone advise from experience, is it worth me getting the concrete tile roof painted/cleaned/checked before solar panel installation? For context, I live near the coast in NSW, Australia, so the weather and climate is quite stable year-round – no snow or overly-wild weather, either.
Thanks in advance.
