Defamation case: Guj HC refuses to grant interim relief to Rahul

The Gujarat high court on Tuesday refused to grant interim suspension of Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in a criminal defamation case over his “Modi surname” remark in which he was sentenced to two years in jail by a Surat court. The conviction led to his disqualification as a Member of Parliament.
