Solar Panel Project using 2 Volt 1000 Ah VRLA Battery

Advertisements

As you can imagine, the battery would be very big. its 74 kg battery each.

I Have

  • 100 WP monochrystaline : 4 pcs solar cell
  • SOlar Charge Controller MPPT
    • Model : XTRA 4210N ( XDS2 )
Nominal system Voltage : 12V/24V Auto work
      Rated charge current : 40A
      Rated discharge current : 40A
Max. PV open circuit voltage : 100V
Battery input voltage range : 8V~32V
      Max. PV input power : 520W ( 12V ) 1040W ( 24V )
  • 6 Battery
    • 2 SLA 1000
    • 2 Volt , 1000 Ah
    • Valve regulated lead acid battery

My plan is to :

  • add more PV up to 10 pieces of same solar cell
  • add 6 battery with series connection to 12 Volt
  • change the controller if needed

there are lots of questions

  • can my controller charge the battery? if not, what controller do i need
  • can my battery usable for photovoltaic systems?
  • is there anything to consider for choosing the right controller, that can utilize my phtovoltaic system to my battery? and convert to AC?
  • actually i dont need 6 battery, maybe 1 or 2 is sufficient for low power demand (lighting in isolated site), but the voltage needed is too low while most controller output is 12 Volt minimum, thats why i make it 6 battery in series. any idea ?

so much question, so much things to learn

thanks for your advise
