Cost Sanity Check: Critter Guard $12.65 per linear foot installed, simple array shape?

Advertisements

I’m having a 12.41 kw array installed, pretty simple shape of a square of 4×8 panels with two extra panels on the end, so a grand total of 5 “external” corners and one “internal” corner. 120 linear feet.

They’re asking for $1,518 to install Critter Guard at the same time they install the array, which comes in at $12.65 per linear foot. That seems pretty expensive, but maybe it’s much harder to install than I’m imagining? Just looking for a sanity check if I should push back or not, or forgo them installing the Critter Guard and do it myself (assuming that doesn’t mess with the panel/install warranty?). I’m comfortable messing around on my roof, so no issue there.

Thanks!
