25 months of none operational solar.

Hello, I have a question regarding the legal stance I have on our solar panels. In June of 2021, my wife and I signed a solar contract to have solar panels installed on our roof. In September of 2021, the panels were “installed” on our roof but not the inverter and hookup into the grid.

Our first solar loan payment was due in November 2021, and when November came, our panels where still roof ornaments. We read we should continue to pay the loan to stay in good graces with the loan company who bought our loan from the original company, which we did. But after December 2021, there were no email responses. In January 2022, the email account was suspended. Apparently the company contacted to install the panels when bully up.

In June of 2022, the loan company suspend our payments and worked with us to get the panels hooked up. In October of 2022, work resumed on finalizing the panel’s install. Well, by this time our permit with the city expired and a new permit had to be issued. In March 2023, with new permit issued, work resumed only to be halted again. The original plans to have the wires run underground from the garage panels to the home wasn’t possible. There was a concrete driveway in the way someone must have overlooked /s.

In may 2023 we had new plans, new permit, panels wired up, and ready for their maiden voyage! Then disaster. 25 months later, our panels on the garage roof were installed improperly and have nothing coming from them. Our electric company will not install their second meter to monitor the output our panels create until the whole system is working.

My question is, does this void the original contract seeing as they were installed wrong, which means they weren’t installed?
