The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to conduct an abort test of the crew escape system for the Gaganyaan mission by the end of October. The test will simulate the abort condition during the ascent trajectory of the mission and will involve separating the crew module from the test vehicle at an altitude of about 17 km. This test flight is a significant milestone for the Gaganyaan programme.
