Sinopec: China’s Oil Consumption Will Peak by 2030

China’s oil consumption is expected to peak at some point later this decade, between 2026 and 2030, due to an acceleration of EV adoption, the country’s largest refiner, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, or Sinopec, said in a long-term outlook on Thursday.  Oil consumption in China – the world’s largest importer of crude oil and the second-biggest oil consumer after the United States – is set to peak at around 16 million barrels per day (bpd) in the period 2026 through 2030, according to Sinopec’s…
