Hi!
I’m getting a new roof soon, and will need to install a new pool solar system. The company I’m currently using said the pool solar needs to sit directly on the roof, so the tech would drill through some shingles in order to attach it. Is this the normal practice, or are they being lazy?
I can’t find any information about installation limitations online, but I find it hard to believe that it’s standard to poke holes in your roof. Obviously I have no experience with this, but I was imagining brackets could be installed before placing the shingles, and then once the roof is on, the solar panel could be attached to the bracket while still sit on top of the roof.
TIA
