Been reading here for a while, and getting close to pulling the trigger to sign before the end of 2022 for installation in the spring.
After almost signing a lease with Sunrun (pfew), went through EnergySage and got 4 quotes, talked to two of them. The lowest cost and likely candidate is offering an 8.03 kW system with 22 QCELLS 365 watt solar panels and Enphase IQ8+ microinverters estimated at over 11,000 kWh / year. The cash price is around $25,300 for $3.15/watt. I’ve read that REC is better than QCELLS but haven’t asked yet if that’s an option or how much it would be.
I’m in the Chicago suburbs and 17 of the 22 panels would be on my second story roof, south facing with little to no obstructions. The other 5 panels would be on my first story roof, possibly having some shade from the second story early in the morning and maybe a neighbor’s tree late in the afternoon.
Is this a good price & system? Thanks!
