Expanding existing 8kw to 12-14kw in NJ

Advertisements

I live in NJ and am looking to expand my 8kw sunpower solar system by adding a couple of more panels and attach them to existing monitoring system. I inherited the previous solar, so not sure what is involved. My previous post on the cost.

  • I prefer to keep in sunpower and add to existing pvs6. Is that going to be a problem? Do I need a second unit for any reason at all?

  • What about permits from township? I guess that is always needed for Solar I assume but curious to know.

  • I have lived less than a year in the current home with solar installed by previous owner. Do I need to get approval from utility company?

  • Any one go thru similar expansion card to share some of your experience?

  • I am going directly wiht sunpower and cutting middle man. I got a $2.9/watt for the expansion 3.2kw system. Seems pretty solid these days. Anyone know better installer in Nj with lower rate?

Thanks
