Powerwall 3 with Enphase?

Advertisements

I have been researching quite a bit about solar and what I want for my house and the sales process has been draining (worse than car shopping). I would really like an Enphase IQ8 system with REC panels and maybe a battery system as well, but almost every installer tries to steer me in another direction or for other panels.

Xcel energy is giving a good rebate on battery systems and only Tesla and SolarEdge are eligible. Both systems are string inverter systems so would it be dumb to pay for the Powerwall 3 and not use the string inverter built in? Tesla says it is compatible with existing systems but is a string inverter that bad and would I regret it later if I opted out of the micro inverters?
